What to Bring • Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and shoes that can take mud. Wearing layers is a good idea, so that you can adjust to changing temperatures. If you have a long trip home, consider bringing a change of clothes in case you get wet. Some folks like to bring work gloves if their hands are sensitive. • Sunscreen or a hat can help protect you from too much sun! • If you use bug repellant, bring some with you. Mosquitoes can be quite plentiful around the farms at certain seasons, particularly when we work near the creek. • A water bottle is handy to have, even when the weather is not hot. It’s important to drink fluids while working in any weather. • A potluck dish for 5 to 6 people and place settings. Ground Rules for Young Folk Roxbury Farm is a great place for kids. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome at the farm. The farm has lots of room to run, woods to explore, even a creek where you can take a cool dip. We ask that you follow these farm rules: • Kids are asked to stay off of equipment unless expressly permitted by the farmers • Kids must be accompanied by an adult if they go to the creek. • Please don’t allow your children to go into the fence with the pigs or climb on the fence. The fence around the wooded pasture is electrified so please do not touch it.
